These plants are made using mild steel plate and are lined with firebricks.

The kiln is slightly sloped and rotates on its own axis on a certain fixed number of rotations per hour.

The raw mix is fed from one end of the kiln.

The constant rotation process makes it move towards the other end of the kiln.

Fuel is blown into the other end, causing a large flame to burn in the kiln.

The fuel then undergoes a rapid process of combustion.

These plants run uninterrupted for long time periods and require minimal maintenance.
