Sulphuric Acid Plant BRIEF PROCESS

Testing of sulphur for quality.
purification of sulphur by melting & decantation.
burning of sulphur to form sulphur DI oxide.
Cooling of SO2 & generation of steam.
Filtration of gases for dust.
Conversion of SO2 to SO3 in converter in presence of V2O5 catalyst.
Cooling of reacted gases.
Absorption of SO3 in H2SO4.
Heating of remainder gases
Conversion of SO2 to SO3 in converter in presence of V2O5 catalyst.
Absorption of SO3 in H2SO4.
Cooling and diluting H2SO4 to 98.5%.
